Yes — every new client starts with an in-person Skin Health Consultation. It gives me the time and space to properly understand your skin and your goals, and to recommend the right treatment or plan for you. The consultation is £40 for 45 minutes, and it's fully credited against your first treatment or plan if you decide to proceed. If you do go ahead, your first LED preparation session is included on the same day.
Sometimes — it depends on the treatment and how the consultation goes. For some quicker treatments (like a single skin tag) we can often proceed straight away if you're happy to. For NeoGen and larger treatment plans, I usually prefer you to take some time to consider before committing. There's no pressure either way.
Woodside operates by appointment from a private setting in Talbot Woods, Bournemouth. The full address is shared with confirmed bookings. Free, easy parking is available.
I ask for at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment. Cancellations made with less notice may be subject to a fee.
Most clients find the treatments very tolerable. Sensations vary by treatment — NeoGen feels warm but not painful, Thermavein is a quick, sharp sensation that fades immediately, and Cryotherapy feels cold with a brief sting. I'll talk you through exactly what to expect for your specific treatment, and we'll always go at your pace.
Downtime varies by treatment — and for some treatments, by the intensity of the session and the area treated. The table below covers what most clients can realistically expect. We'll always talk through specifics for your treatment plan at consultation, and you'll receive full written aftercare notes after every appointment.
| Treatment | What to expect | Approximate downtime |
|---|---|---|
| NeoGen — lower energy | Mild redness, warmth like sunburn; some dryness or flaking as skin renews | 1–7 days |
| NeoGen — higher energy | More noticeable redness for 5–7 days; dry, flaky skin as deeper renewal occurs | 1–2 weeks |
| Thermavein — face | Redness and warmth, sometimes mild swelling; small scabs on skin tags, milia or larger lesions | A few hours to 7–10 days |
| Thermavein — legs & body | Skin can darken or scab in the treated area; takes longer to settle than facial work | Up to 4 weeks |
| Cryotherapy — small lesions | Brief blister, then a small scab that falls away naturally | 1–2 weeks |
| Cryotherapy — warts & verrucas | Soreness, possible blistering; deeper conditions need a course of treatments | Per session: 1–4 weeks |
| Laser Tattoo & Eyebrow Removal | Redness and swelling 1–3 days; possible blistering or scabs; full skin recovery before next session | 4–8 weeks between sessions |
| LED Light Therapy | None | None |
These are typical ranges based on clinical experience and manufacturer guidance — individual healing varies. Anything outside the expected range, or if you're worried about something, please get in touch.
It really depends on the treatment and your goals. Some concerns are sorted in a single session — thread veins, skin tags, milia. Rejuvenation treatments like NeoGen often work best as a short course of three. Verrucas and warts typically need a course of six. We'll agree a realistic plan together at your consultation.
Some results are immediate — thread veins and skin tags often look noticeably different straight away. Others build over time as the skin regenerates: with NeoGen, you'll see a gradual change over the coming weeks as collagen production increases. I'll set realistic expectations with you before we start.
For removal treatments — skin tags, thread veins, milia — the treated lesion is gone for good. New ones can appear elsewhere over time. For rejuvenation treatments like NeoGen, results last a long time but the skin continues to age, so most clients return for top-ups every 12–18 months.
All treatments offered at Woodside use clinically proven, certified technology and are carried out by a registered nurse with full insurance. Safety, consent, and aftercare are central to every appointment, not an afterthought.
There are some conditions that mean a treatment isn't suitable — pregnancy and breastfeeding for some treatments, certain skin conditions, recent sun exposure, particular medications, and a few medical histories. The consultation is partly there to identify these things, which is why an in-person assessment matters.
I'm trained in mole assessment through MASCED Pro and use a clinical dermatoscope to take a closer look at any moles you're concerned about. If anything needs further investigation, I'll refer you to your GP or a dermatologist. I don't currently offer mole removal at the clinic.
Yes. Discretion is built into how the clinic runs — by appointment only, in a private setting, with bookings spaced to protect your privacy. Your records and any consent forms are stored in line with current data protection law.
Card payments are accepted at the clinic — both contactless and chip-and-PIN. A secure online payment link can also be sent for course bookings if preferred.
Yes — for most skin concerns, our treatment plans are priced at a saving compared to booking the same sessions individually, and they include your consultation, a personalised skincare recommendation, LED preparation, and a mid-course review. Thermavein also has a two-session course for legs and body, and the verruca and wart course is a six-session block (£420 in total, vs. £75 each individually). You can see the plans on our pricing page, with specifics confirmed at your consultation.
